A great program for families that are caring for their elderly/senior parents and grand parents. We get a nurse and a case manager that visits us every month and advocate and help us access other resources in the community. I do not know what I would hae done withut the ptogram. I can’t say enough about the incredible care provided by the team at Golden Days—especially Elda. From the very beginning, it was clear that their aides are not only well-trained but also deeply compassionate.
I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t the easiest person to work with at first. I was guarded, frustrated, and honestly, not in the mood to accept help. But then I met Elda—and everything began to change.
From day one, she treated me with patience and respect. She took the time to explain why she was there and what her role was, and most importantly, she gave me choices. That meant a lot. She never forced anything on me. Instead, she approached me with kindness, professionalism, and a genuine heart, which made me feel like I had control during a time when I felt like I had lost so much of it.
What stood out the most was how she always reminded me that it was okay to express how I felt. She never took anything personally, even when I wasn’t at my best. Her words stuck with me: “I’m here for your well-being and your safety, and I stand for your happiness.” And she truly meant it. Over time, something unexpected happened—we became friends. Her empathy and understanding helped me feel seen and supported. She didn’t just “do a job”—she cared. Her compassion and calm approach helped me feel safe and heard, and that’s something I’ll never forget.
Golden Days has some truly special people. Their aides aren’t just well-trained—they lead with heart. And that makes all the difference.

I get along with the clients because I’ve been trained to work with clients from different backgrounds by always explaining to them why I am there, what I am doing, and offering them choices. Working with our clients can sometimes be difficult as we try to assist them in regaining their independence and well-being.
I normally tell my clients, “It’s okay to express how they feel, and I don’t take it personally. I am here for your well-being and your safety, and I stand for your happiness. It’s up to you to decide if you need me or not.” Working with females is sometimes not easy.
You just need to be an empathetic aide to understand how to deal with clients who pose a lot of difficulties at the start.
